Digital Viewing Equipment Repair with Just One Phone Call

Here’s our four simple steps:


Step 1


In the event of a fault with your Sky/Freesat/Freeview digital box or a signal loss, please firstly go through this quick questionnaire prior to contacting us.

If none of the above has helped to resolve your issue then go to STEP 2



Q: My box has frozen and won't respond either to remote commands or manual selection of the buttons.
A : Unplug the Digital Box from the mains power and leave for 3 minutes then reboot. This will take a few minutes as the box searches for listings.



Q: My Sky remote not working.
A : Replace your remote control with new batteries. Make sure they are not out of date.



Q: The message on the screen says, 'No Satellite Signal is Being Received'
A : Check the coax cable is still connected at the back of the box (one cable if standard Sky, Freesat/Freeview, or 2 if Sky+ or SkyHD) should be connect via a 'f' type screw connector.



Q: Why can I only get the free channels and not my pay channels?
: Check that the viewing card is still inserted in the slot, if so, call Sky support and check there hasn't been a problem collecting payment and they have cut you off.



Q: I have picture but no sound?
A: Check that the mute button on both the Sky remote (Freesat/Freeview) and the television remote has not been accidently selected. Check that the scart lead (thick black lead with large flat head is still firmly pushed in the back of the Digital box and the TV- should be flush.



Q: I have sound but no picture?

If all telephone advice fails then it is likely that vCare will organise for a local, qualified and insured Engineer to visit you at home to repair or replace your equipment..
